Windows Media Player Problem or Burner Issue?

Hi,





I am running 7 on my Dell Dimension 4550. My CD device is a NEC DVD + RW ND-1100A that is used to burn my CD's. The SAMSUNG DVD-ROM SD-616T.





My problem is trying to burn a CD using Windows Media Player. When trying to burn the CD, try to finalize the CD. Sometimes, it will spin and spin everything.





I did have ITunes installed and tried to burn with it. It said it could not find a burner installed.





Someone told me that there was a two - so I installed it.





Is there anyway to check if there is a problem with the burner itself?





I had burned CD's in the past - but that was a year or so ago.





Now I can not burn anything.





Please help.
