Can a writer change style depending on the story to be told? Or should every story be told in the same style? In my opinion, each narrative genre should be written with a different style . The writer must keep in mind two fundamental aspects of his story: the literary genre; the reader to whom it is addressed. If he writes a horror story he won't be able to use the same style as a dramatic story or a children's adventure novel. I have always believed that style - although perhaps it is not exactly correct to speak of style - must adapt to the story, that it is the story that requires a particular approach to its narration. A horror story must arouse sensations and emotions that disturb the reader - or at least this is what the writer must aim for and it is not certain that he will succeed - while a fantasy story must be evocative, epic, must arouse amazement and fascination. A fairy tale requires a different approach, a love story another and so on. Is the writer Special Data capable of being carried away by his story? Is he able to adapt his writing based on what he is narrating? This is what I try to do every time I set out to write a story. I study the style to use, I look for the right combinations of words and the effects of the sentences according to my story. The right atmosphere must shine through the writing. And every story has its own atmosphere. Each story, therefore, must be told with dedicated writing. Do you also think that this is the right way to proceed? And can you think of writers who behave in this way? Groups Linkedin groups allow you to start discussions on your favorite topic.
