I almost never talk about current affairs. By choice. Because often fomenting background chatter does more harm than good and rarely leads to deep reflection. I will not go into the merits of what has (I hope) shocked our consciences in recent days. These are issues that are too delicate to be addressed without the depth they deserve and which they would not find here, now. However, I want to try to reflect on an issue that, in one way or another, affects everyone closely. It touches us, our brothers, sisters, cousins and friends, involves the present and looks to the future. Where will we arrive following the pressing rhythms of new technologies and the digital world? This is the question I hear repeated and repeated again every time something inhumane happens. As if new technologies and the Web forced us to carry out actions that we do not want to carry out, to say or do things that we do not want to do, to expose ourselves or to expose others, perhaps without their knowledge. Is this really the question we need to ask ourselves? Or, perhaps, what we should ask ourselves is what is our fault? ? Already. I ask you: are the real culprits the instruments or are they, more likely, the executors? I read, I listen, I observe and I really don't understand how it is possible to pin blame on a vehicle that is there, in our hands, waiting for what we want to do with it . Think about it! The Web is a tool that Loan Phone Number List can be used or not, it can be used in one way or another, it can be equal or it can discriminate, it can offer opportunities or it can marginalize, it can help or it can condemn. But who decides which way to tip the balance? I've been thinking about it for a while and I believe that the main problem is in the very nature of the Web , in its freedom. The Web is a free communication tool , which offers everyone the opportunity to express themselves, to say, to do, to show, to tell their stories, to socialize, to inform themselves, to entertain themselves and to have fun. But we don't know what to do with all this freedom, we aren't able to manage it. Maybe because we ignore, maybe because we are human. We are humans who too often forget that we are Human Beings. And so, the Web becomes the culprit, the executioner, the Web scares us, the Web (which certainly has its beautiful flaws) becomes the artificer of the ugliness that, instead, we are the ones who commit it. Is there a solution? Of course, and it depends on us, on our consciences, on our education, on our humanity and also on our information . All this is needed. And we must always remember two things. The first is that we are the ones who move the circus puppets, it is not the circus that moves us. And the second is that freedom is only such if and when it respects ourselves and others.
